I would like to invite you to Celebrate the Iowa Postal Workers Union 50th Anniversary at the 2023 Mini State Convention in Waterloo IA. The training theme will be focused on how far we have come since 1972 and the ongoing struggles that will shape our future. It is our hope that this meeting will provide perspective for the participants that will energize them and provide the tools they need to recruit others to join the fight. We are in a battle to keep offices open in small towns across the state and will need members to be ready to flex their union muscles to protect their communities and jobs. We welcome any suggestions you would like to make to strengthen our training and invite you to provide added dimension to the program by participating as a presenter.
The convention will end a 10 day statewide tour in which the stewards and officers will be visiting as many small Post Offices as possible and conducting informational meetings in key locations around the state. It is our hope that this will raise the profile of the union in the small offices and identify potential leaders and volunteers for future union events. If you are not able to join us during the convention, we would love to have you catch up with us at any of the Area Meeting locations between 4/19-4/26
I hope you will be able to join us as we celebrate this momentous occasion. The Waterloo Local is organizing a very special hospitality event Friday evening that will transport you back in time. Let us treat you to an evening filled with laughter, nostalgia, and fun for everyone!
