I am hosting a virtual Texas Holdem Tournament as a fund raiser to help our brother Lee Grey. Lee has been the Support Services Director for the IPWU for many years and has been a staunch union advocate. He is a truck driver in support services who has been unable to work do to a serious health condition for over a year. Although he is an APWU Member he is not covered by the USPS Handbooks and Manuals and therefore is not eligible to participate in the Leave Sharing program. I am hoping that you will join me in sending our support to Lee and his family by selling out this tournament and generously buying back in should some poker hot shot knock you off your table.
The tournament software can accommodate upto 300 players and I have configured the tournament to seat no more than 8 players at a table. With your help I hope to have a minimum of 100 players. The software has built in time limits to keep things moving and participants can watch the brackets/play as the competition progresses. I am setting the buy in at $50 in hopes that a greater number of folks can afford to participate.
I am still working out prizes and may simply opt for a cash prize for the top 3 players. I will create a poster that you can share to increase participation but wanted all of you to be the first to know. I would also like see if I could get 8 of you to join in a mini tournament 9/10 or 9/17 to test the software before the main event. (A separate link will be created if I get takers to test the program)
