APWU is proud to announce that a tentative agreement (TA) on our new union contract has been reached between APWU and the USPS. The Rank-and-File Bargaining Advisory committee reviewed and approved the TA, recommending that it be sent to APWU members like you for a vote to accept the terms.
The TA includes:
Guaranteed Pay Raises
Full COLAs: Six Cost-of-Living Adjustments currently projected by economists to be valued at over $3,000+
Protection from layoffs for every employee in career status as of Sept. 20, 2024, terrific job security in a turbulent time for USPS.
For employees in the lower tier pay scale, additional top step for grades 4-7
50 mile limit on excessing
Increased night shift differential
Annual leave exchange and carryover policy limits increased
And many other improvements for members in all crafts.
In a time where government workers and our unions are under significant attacks and amidst looming threats to privatize the USPS, this union contract–with no givebacks–represents the strength of our union to protect what we’ve earned over generations of struggle. This is a strong foundation to fight back on any attacks to our union and our public Postal Service.
The APWU recommend a “yes” vote. Vote yes for guaranteed wage increases every year, 6 COLAs for every career member, unprecedented work protections, and more.
