confirming the grievance moratorium for the national convention
Updated On: May 17, 2022
Upon confirming the grievance moratorium for the national convention, I checked the LMOU Implementation timeline and found it conflicted with the convention. Impasse appeals would have been due during the beginning of the convention period and the parties would then in effect lose 2 weeks of time to discuss impasses. I reached out the Postal Service and they agreed to extend the impasse appeal period. The attached document extends the impasse appeal date to August 26, 2022, the discussion period to October 14, 2022, and the appeal to arbitration date to November 4, 2022. It does not extend any dates to initiate negotiations or the 60-day negotiation period. This should address any appeal issues and gives extra time to discuss instead of trying to jam all discussions into a shorter period. Feel free to share. I will post the extension at www.apwu.org/local-implementation as well.
