We are very excited that the campaign for union-made postal electric vehicles is gaining momentum. The Postal Service has been responding to our collective pressure and has increased the percentage of new EVs under the Oshkosh Defense Contract from 10%, then 20%, and now 40%, but it's time to keep pushing. We'd like to Our planet can't wait; we need EV postal vehicles to cut emissions and build out the national EV infrastructure. 1) Come join us at the USPS Union-Made Electric Vehicle Rally on August 9th @ 2:30PM. Members of APWU, UAW, environmental groups, and union activists will be having dinosaur-themed rally outside of the USPS headquarters in DC (475 L'Enfant Plaza SW). 2) Please also consider testifying at the PBOG Meeting on August 9th and 4PM and let them know that your support for increasing the proportion of union-made electric postal vechicles. Registration for public comment is open until August 7th 4PM Eastern. When you sign up, please fill out this form so we know that you're plannign to testify. We're happy to send you some talking points and answer any questions.
3) There is also another opporuntiy to provide public comment on Monday August 8. There will be a three-hour window to submit comments for a virtual hearing on the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement for the USPS Next Gen Delivery Vehicles, you can register here.
