Group, it has come to our attention that the National Union was notified that the Postal Service and all government agencies would not process paper retirements. Here is what I got back from Industrial Relations Director, Charlie Cash after questioning him on the retirement process.
We do have a notification on this and are requesting a meeting. The problem is that OPM changed the rules based on an EO from Trump and DOGE recommendations. OPM has set the rule and we don’t know if they is going to be a way around it. OPM only accepts online. Even if a paper one were to be submitted, someone then has to go in and enter the information online to transmit to OPM. So yes—it is a pain in the ass. We aren’t sure there is a way around it yet.
