[Save USPS] Reuters: USPS could run out of money in 2027, Steiner will testify before Congress on 3/17

This is what we have been talking about within the unions. Mailhandlers and NALC are in contract negotiations with the postal service. HQ Postal Service management grew significantly during the DeJoy era. PMG Stiner stated that we can't cut our way out of the loss. We must expand services and have the right to expand services but the Service is failing to explore the options that were given to us under the Postal Reform Act of 2022. What do you think this administration will do when Stiner request to borrow money from the Treasury Department? We have a feeling that "they" will start the piece meal out of services and jobs of postal workers. This is all coming at the wrong time!
Postmaster General to testify before Congress March 17
USPS has lost $120 billion since 2007
'We are out of cash in 12 months' without changes, Steiner says
WASHINGTON, March 4 (Reuters) - The U.S. Postal Service is hiring restructuring advisers to help address its mounting financial troubles, Postmaster General David Steiner told Reuters in an interview.
Reuters first reported in December that Steiner believed the Postal Service could run out of money as soon as early 2027. USPS has reported net losses of about $120 billion since 2007 as first-class mail, its most profitable product, has fallen to its lowest volume since the late 1960s.
